A 12mm PINFIRE DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'LEFAUCHEUX PATENT', serial no. 107051,
circa 1870, with two staged 6 3/8in. barrel, applied fore-sight, sighting notch to the hammer-nose, the right side of throat stamped 'E LEFAUCHEUX INV & BREVETE', Lefaucheux maker's mark to underside of barrel, open iron frame with plunge ejector, Birmingham and Liege proofs, plain cylinder with external ratchet locking, smooth walnut hump-backed grips, iron pommel-cap with lanyard ring and guarded trigger, much original blued finish remaining
